HCi’s Honorary President - Dr. Peter Patel
Dr. Patel has over twenty years experience as a scientific researcher in the biomedical and health care sectors. He is currently the National Chair of ‘Race and Equality’ for the Confederation of Indian Organisations and has a special interest in health inequalities of ethnic minorities. For the last ten years he has been actively involved in developing and managing international humanitarian projects in India and Bangladesh. Peter has extensive experience in project management in academia, industry, the voluntary sector and the media. He was the Millennium President of the Rotary Club of Birmingham and serves as a Section 11 Trustee - a Secretary of State appointment - to the University Hospital Birmingham Charities, and is the Chairman of the Asian Health Forum.

HCi’s Chair - John Morris
John is currently Chief Executive of Trident Group - one of the Midlands’ most influential housing-based social businesses. He has worked in housing and regeneration for nearly twenty-five years; mostly in the housing association sector. John has worked for Prime Focus, COPEC, Black Star and HAMAC Housing Associations, as well as being the driving force behind the country’s first Social Investment Agency (SIA) and the Handsworth Area Regeneration Trust (HART). He has spent nineteen of those twenty-five years in senior posts, as Chief Executive, Director and Company Secretary. During that time, John has operated in both specialist and corporate positions. John has been Vice-Chair of People for Action (PFA) and is currently member of the National Housing Federation's Regional Committee.

 

HCi’s Research & Development Director - Kevin Gulliver
Kevin is an independent housing and regeneration research consultant and is acting Director of HCi. Kevin has worked at senior levels in policy, research, business planning and communications roles for some of the country’s largest housing associations, for the Probation Service and for the NHS. His main research interests are housing, communities, social exclusion, inequality and asset based welfare, and BME and faith issues. He specialises in housing needs and housing market studies, community profiles, household surveys and social audits, and mapping deprivation and disadvantage. He is also author of three housing association histories and a range of good practice guides for housing regulators and trade bodies. Kevin is delivering a core research programme for HCi and managing research associates, as well as assisting the Trustees in management and promotional activities.
